The purpose of testing the pump assembly is to ensure automatic or manual operation upon
demand and continuous delivery of the required system output. An additional purpose is to detect
deficiencies of the pump assembly not evident by inspection.
The studies shall cover performance analysis of the pumps as well as flow measurement at key areas, as detailed below three pumps performance checking (PUMP HEAD,FLOW) submission of performance report & compression reports of efficiency with performance curves.

- Flow rate with ultrasonic transit time flow meter
- Power consumption with clamp on type power meter
- Diesel consumption based on tank level and cross-sectional area
- Discharge pressure with digital or analog pressure gauge
- Suction pressure based on height of liquid column / digital or analog pressure gauge
- Graph .
The values shall be compared with design data and commented upon.

- Head versus Flow for electrically driven pump
- Efficiency versus Flow for electrically driven pump
- Power versus Flow for electrically driven pump
- Head versus Flow for engine driven pump
The measurements shall be carried for various flows ranging from No flow to 150% of the rated flow, subject to compatibility of motor and piping system. While the measurement at No flow shall be for half an hour, the other readings shall be for about 15 minutes each
The values shall be compared with design data and commented upon. The following graphs shall be plotted.
1. Head versus Flow for electrically driven pump

3. Power versus Flow for electrically driven pump
4. Head versus Flow for engine driven pump.
